What this tile is

This is a peel and stick tile made from embossed PVC vinyl. The surface has a raised stone and pebble pattern, so light and shadow move across it like real stacked stone. Each sheet has a self-adhesive backing that presses onto smooth walls. There is no grout, no mortar and no waiting for anything to dry. The tile is waterproof, moisture-proof, mould-proof and heat insulating, with a Grade B fireproof rating. That mix suits a kitchen backsplash, a bathroom wall or any smooth wall that sees splashes and steam.

Sizes and coverage

One pack covers a small project. Ten sheets cover a larger run. Here is how the packs break down.

Pack Sheets Coverage
Single 1 sheet Not sold by coverage
Value 10 sheets 9.7 sq ft (0.9 m2)

Measure your wall before you order. For a typical kitchen backsplash, measure the length and the height, multiply them, then divide by 9.7 to see how many 10 sheet packs you need. Add a little extra for cuts around outlets and corners. If you are covering a small area, like the side of a cabinet or a single shelf back, the single sheet pack is enough.

Colors and styles

There are six stone looks to pick from:

  • Light gray stone
  • Beige travertine
  • Old beige travertine
  • Brown stacked stone
  • Old brown flagstone
  • Coffee stacked stone

The lighter colors, like light gray stone and beige travertine, keep a small kitchen or bathroom feeling open. The brown and coffee tones add depth to a larger wall or a fireplace surround. You can use one color across the whole wall or mix two for a banded look.

Where it works

This tile is made for smooth walls. Good spots include:

  • Kitchen backsplash behind a counter or stove
  • Bathroom wall behind a sink or vanity
  • Living room accent wall
  • Bedroom wall or headboard area
  • Study or home office wall

The surface handles water and steam, so it holds up in wet rooms. Do not install it on textured walls, brick, concrete or any surface with bumps and dips. The adhesive needs a flat, clean face to grip. If your wall is painted, make sure the paint is not peeling or chalky.

How to install it

  1. Clean the wall. Wipe off dust, grease and soap film, then let it dry.
  2. Measure and mark. Use a pencil and a level to draw a straight line where the first sheet will sit.
  3. Peel the backing. Start at one corner and pull the film away a few inches at a time.
  4. Press and smooth. Set the sheet on the wall and push it down from the center out. A soft cloth or a plastic smoother works well.
  5. Cut as you go. For outlets and edges, trim with scissors or a utility knife. Cut before you press the sheet down if the shape is tricky.
  6. Overlap or butt the seams. Line up the pattern so the stone look flows across the wall.

If you need to move a sheet, peel it back slowly and start again. The adhesive stays tacky for a short time, which gives you room to adjust.

Care and cleaning

Wipe the tile with a damp cloth and a mild household cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach sprays and solvents, which can dull the embossed surface. For grease on a kitchen backsplash, a little dish soap in warm water is enough. The waterproof face means splashes and steam stay on the surface, so a quick wipe keeps it looking fresh. If a sheet ever lifts at an edge, press it back down with firm pressure.

What to keep in mind

With a smooth wall and a clean start, the sheets go up fast and come down clean when you want a change. Check the wall for flatness before you begin, since dips and bumps show through the embossed face.

Questions

How many sheets do I need for a kitchen backsplash?

Ten sheets cover 9.7 sq ft (0.9 m2). Measure the length and height of your backsplash, multiply them, then divide by 9.7. Round up and add a little for cuts around outlets.

Can I put this tile in a shower?

It is made for smooth walls in kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, bedrooms and studies. Check your surface first and keep it to the wall areas listed.

Do I need grout or tools?

No grout and no special tools. Each sheet has a self-adhesive backing. You need a clean smooth wall, a cloth or smoother, and scissors or a utility knife for trimming.

Will it stick to painted walls?

Yes, if the paint is smooth and not peeling or chalky. Clean the wall first and let it dry. Textured walls, brick and concrete do not give the adhesive a flat surface to grip.
