What this contact paper is

This is a matte PVC vinyl roll with an embossed wood grain finish. The surface has a light texture that follows the grain, so it reads as wood rather than flat print. A self-adhesive backing covers the whole sheet, so you press it into place and smooth it down as you go. No glue, no paste, no extra tools.

It is made for smooth painted walls, tile and glass. That covers a lot of everyday spots: cabinet fronts, countertops, shelves, tabletops, drawer fronts and wall sections that need a fresh face. The vinyl is water resistant on the surface, so a damp cloth handles most marks.

Sizes

Rolls come in thirteen sizes across three widths. Pick the width that matches your surface and the length that covers it with a little extra for trimming.

Short rolls suit shelves, drawer fronts and small cabinet doors. Long rolls suit counters, full cabinet runs and wall sections. If you are not sure, measure the surface and add a few inches on each side for trimming.

Colors

Two wood tones are available. Light oak is pale and warm, with a soft grain that keeps small spaces feeling open. Rustic brown wood is deeper, with more contrast in the grain, and suits counters, tables and cabinets that want a heavier look. Both share the same matte embossed surface and the same self-adhesive backing.

How to fit it

Start with a clean, smooth, dry surface. Wipe it down and let it dry fully. Dust and grease are the main reasons contact paper lifts at the edges.

Measure the surface and cut the roll with a couple of inches of overhang on each side. Peel back a few inches of the backing at one end and press that end down. Work in short sections: peel, press, smooth. A felt-edged squeegee or a soft cloth pushes air out ahead of you. If a bubble forms, lift that corner and lay it back down slowly.

Once the sheet is flat, trim the overhang with a sharp blade against the edge. For corners, cut a small relief slit so the vinyl folds without creasing. On cabinet doors, take the door off the hinges when you can. It is easier to lay the roll flat than to work around hardware.

For a seam between two rolls, overlap by about an inch, then cut through both layers with a straight edge. Lift the top piece, remove the strip underneath, and press the seam closed.

Care

Wipe with a damp cloth. For greasy marks, add a drop of mild dish soap to the cloth and wipe again with clean water. Avoid abrasive pads and strong solvents, which dull the matte finish. The surface handles everyday splashes, but wipe up standing water rather than letting it sit at the edges.

Questions

What surfaces does this contact paper stick to?

It is made for smooth painted walls, tile and glass. Clean the surface and let it dry fully before you press the roll down.

Can I use it on kitchen cabinets?

Yes. Cabinet fronts are a common use. Take the doors off the hinges when you can, so you can lay the roll flat and trim the edges cleanly.

How do I remove bubbles after fitting?

Lift the nearest corner and lay the vinyl back down slowly while smoothing with a soft cloth. Small bubbles often work out on their own within a day.

How do I clean it?

Wipe with a damp cloth. For greasy marks, use a drop of mild dish soap, then wipe again with clean water. Skip abrasive pads and strong solvents.
