One roll of printed vinyl wallpaper with a self-adhesive back under a peel-off liner. It measures 15.7 in x 9.8 ft (40 x 300 cm) and covers 12.9 sq ft (1.2 m²).
The print is a single warm tone: roses, rosebuds and leaves in shades of champagne, sand and soft gold on a white ground, with the darker outlines giving the flowers shape. Because it uses one color family, it looks gentle and calm rather than busy, and it works with cream, white, warm gray and natural wood.
Bedrooms are the obvious home for it, especially behind an upholstered headboard. It is also lovely in a hallway or entry, around a fireplace, on a stair wall and above a console table. Smaller projects work well too: the back of a bookcase, dresser fronts or the inside of a closet door.
The vinyl surface wipes clean, so light marks in a hallway are easy to remove.
At 15.7 in wide, this roll is a little narrower than our other papers. Divide the wall width in inches by 15.7 and round up, then add a roll for matching the pattern and later repairs. A wall 10 ft wide, 120 in, takes 8 rolls, and a 9th as a spare. Each roll gives one full strip on a wall up to about 9 ft tall.
Wipe the wall clean and let it dry. Draw a plumb line with a level about 15 in from a corner. Peel back the top few inches of liner, set the strip at the ceiling with 2 in spare, and smooth it down from the center outward while you draw the liner away. Hold the next strip against the first to line up the roses before you stick it, butt the edges and trim top and bottom against a straight edge. Our measure and make guide covers corners and outlets.
It needs a smooth, dry, painted wall, with paint that has cured for at least two weeks. Textured plaster, damp walls and old wallpaper are not suitable. Keep it out of showers and away from stoves and radiators.
To remove it, peel slowly at a low angle. On sound paint it comes away cleanly; weak paint can lift, so test a small piece if you rent.
No. It is a flat printed champagne tone, closer to sand and soft gold than to metallic foil, so it does not reflect light. That keeps it calm on a large wall.
Warm whites, cream, oatmeal and warm gray suit it best, along with natural wood, brass and linen. Cool bright whites and strong primary colors can make the gold look dull.
It is made 15.7 in (40 cm) wide instead of 17.3 in (44 cm). The length is the same, so plan on about one extra roll for every eight compared with our wider papers.
On sound, cured paint it comes away cleanly if you pull slowly at a low angle. Weak or fresh paint can lift with it, so test a small piece first in a rented home.
