Blackout Window Cover with Velcro Strips

What this blackout cover is

This is a sheet of double layer blackout cloth, 0.2 mm thick, cut to fit flat glass. It works as a window tint for home use when you want the room dark and the glass private. The cloth blocks the view in both directions, so no one outside can see in and no one inside can see out. It suits flat single or double glazing.

The cover attaches with self-adhesive velcro strips. One side of the velcro sticks to the glass or frame, and the matching side is on the cloth. Press the two together to hang the cover, then pull it apart when you want light. When you remove the strips, they peel off without residue.

Sizes and options

Each pack includes one blackout cover, one bag, 1 m of velcro and one tape measure. The standard sheet measures 78.7 x 57 in (200 x 145 cm) and covers 31.1 sq ft (2.9 m2). Other sizes are listed below.

Pick the size that matches your glass, or choose a sheet slightly larger and trim it to fit. The tape measure in the pack helps you check the pane before you cut.

How to fit it

1. Measure the glass. Note the width and height in inches, then compare with the size list.
2. Clean the glass or frame where the velcro will sit. Dry it fully.
3. Cut the velcro to length. You get 1 m in the pack, so plan the strips around the edges of the cover.
4. Peel the backing from the loop side and press it onto the glass or frame. Hold for a few seconds.
5. Press the hook side onto the cloth, then line up the cover and press the two sides together.
6. Smooth the cloth flat. If the sheet is larger than the pane, trim the edges with scissors before hanging.

For a flat single or double glazed window, the velcro holds the cloth tight against the glass. To let light in, pull the cover away from the strips. The cloth folds for storage and goes back up the same way.

Where it works

Use it on bedroom windows, office glass, rental windows and any flat pane where you want full privacy. The double layer cloth blocks light and the view, so it suits rooms that need dark during the day. Because it hangs on velcro, you can take it down and put it back as often as you like.

Care and removal

Wipe the cloth with a damp cloth when needed. Do not machine wash it. Keep the velcro strips clean so they hold well. When you want to remove the cover, pull the cloth off the strips, then peel the strips from the glass. They come off without residue. Store the cover flat or rolled in the bag that comes with the pack.
