What this film is

Mirror Window Tint Film Roll is a self-adhesive PVC vinyl sheet with a reflective mirror finish. You press it onto flat glass and smooth it down, no paste and no special tools. Once it is up, the outside of the glass reflects the view back, so people outside cannot see in during daylight. The surface is water-proof, so you can wipe it clean with a soft cloth.

This is a decorative and functional film for homes, not a replacement for glass. It works on flat single or double glazing, such as windows, glass doors, glass partitions and cabinet glass.

Sizes

Each roll is sold in one of 12 sizes. Measure your glass first, then pick the size that covers it with a little extra for trimming.

Colors

Pick the tone that matches your room and your glass:

  • Black silver: a deep mirror look with a silver backing tone
  • Silver: a bright, classic mirror finish
  • Black translucent: darker, with some light passing through
  • Blue: a cool tint for a softer look
  • Champagne: a warm, light metallic tone
  • Black: a solid dark mirror finish
  • Green: a subtle green tint

All colors share the same PVC vinyl build and self-adhesive backing.

How to fit it

  1. Clean the glass with water and let it dry. Dust and grease stop the film from sticking well.
  2. Measure the glass and cut the film about 1 in (2.5 cm) larger on each side.
  3. Peel back a few inches of the backing. Do not remove the whole liner at once.
  4. Press the sticky side onto the top of the glass. Work downward with a squeegee or a soft cloth.
  5. Push out air bubbles as you go. Small bubbles often settle over a few days.
  6. Trim the extra film along the edges with a sharp knife or scissors.

For best results, fit the film on a day when the glass is not in direct hot sun. A second pair of hands helps on large panes.

What it does

The mirror finish gives you daytime privacy. In daylight, the outside sees a reflection instead of your room. At night, when your lights are on and it is dark outside, the effect is weaker, so use curtains or blinds after dark.

The film also helps with heat insulation, UV protection and glare control. It cuts glare on TVs and screens, and it softens the light that comes through glass doors and windows. It is not a blackout film, so some light still comes through.

Care

The surface is water-proof. Wipe it with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive pads or strong solvents. To keep the mirror finish clear, clean from the inside face only and avoid pressing hard on the edges.

Questions

Does this film give privacy at night?

The mirror finish blocks the view from outside during daylight. At night, when your lights are on and it is dark outside, the effect is weaker. Use curtains or blinds after dark for full privacy.

What glass does it fit?

It fits flat single or double glazing. That includes windows, glass doors, glass partitions and cabinet glass. It is not made for curved or textured glass.

Do I need glue or tools to put it up?

No paste is needed. The film has a self-adhesive backing, so you peel the liner and press it onto clean glass. A squeegee or soft cloth helps smooth out air bubbles.

Can I cut the roll to fit my window?

Yes. Cut the film about 1 in (2.5 cm) larger than the glass, press it on, then trim the extra along the edges. For wide windows, line up two or more rolls side by side.
